During the second half of Monday night’s Madison Square Garden game between the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks, comedian and actor Tracy Morgan experienced a medical issue.
Morgan reportedly had gotten sick during the game
When officials stopped the game for ten minutes, the Knicks were ahead 64-58 against the Heat, according to CBS Sports. While personnel dealt with the problem courtside, both teams waited on the sidelines. The crew had to clean up after Morgan vomited on the floor while he was seated there before the game could start again.
As a devoted Knicks supporter, it is not surprising that the 30 Rock star always seats courtside during games. Social media users shared images and a video of the incident, which showed Morgan being wheeled away while holding a towel to his face. He got a nosebleed, too, based on the video.
Morgan reveals what caused the incident
Morgan later disclosed that foot poisoning was the reason of his vomiting. On Instagram, he posted, “I appreciate all of your concern! Doctors say it was food poisoning, and I’m doing OK now. I want to thank my MSG family for looking after me so well, and I also want to thank the team who had to clean that up. Thank you! More significantly, I may have to perform again during the playoffs because the Knicks are currently 1-0 when I throw up on the floor 😅 #goknicks.
The Knicks defeated the Heat 116-95 to round out the evening. The staff and the famous arena like Morgan, and one representative texted the actor their best wishes.
According to a Madison Square Garden spokesman, “We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside,” People reported.
Morgan was involved in a deadly auto accident in 2014
Throughout his life, Morgan has experienced a number of health problems. He had a kidney transplant in 2010 and has diabetes now. According to People, the Bronx native previously escaped a fatal car crash in June 2014 when a Walmart truck struck his limousine from behind as it was travelling at high speed on the New Jersey Turnpike. James McNair, a friend and partner, was killed in the incident, and multiple people were hurt.
After the accident, Morgan spent two weeks in a coma due to a broken leg. He had to relearn how to walk and talk while confined to a wheelchair for five months. Morgan has been open and outspoken about his recovery ever since.
“I recall how wonderful it was to be welcomed back. “It truly did,” Morgan remarked. Regarding his comeback to comedy following the event, Blavity claims that he stated, “And that day, I didn’t think I was ever going to touch the microphone again.”
